Notes on BAföG

Still looking for a word for the next round of Hangman?
How about “Bundesausbildungsförderungsgesetz”?
You probably know it by the abbreviation “BAföG”.
Unfortunately, very few students receive BAföG, but there are also some who could benefit from it and don’t apply. Admittedly: The application process is not entirely straightforward, because you have to provide some proof.
Did you know that you can also submit your BAföG application online? This should make the process less complicated in the future. If you have questions about BAfoG, it’s best to contact the
@studierendenwerk_stuttgart. On their website (studierendenwerk-stuttgart.de/geld/bafoeg) you can also find information on BAföG and the digital application. There are also anonymous chat sessions on 13 September, 27 September and 11 October from 3 to 5 pm.
There are also companies that will help you with your application for a fee. Of course, you are free to spend your money on this.
However, since you still have to put the documents together yourself and the Studierendenwerk will help you with any questions, we would advise you to think carefully about whether you want to spend money on this.
