Interdisciplinary key competencies
Want to broaden your horizons, get a taste of other subject areas and discover new skills? That’s exactly what the interdisciplinary key competencies (FÜSQ) are for!
FÜSQ modules are included in most Bachelor’s and some Master’s degree programmes at the University of Stuttgart. The range of options on C@MPUS is diverse: From courses in other faculties to programmes offered by the Centre for Higher Education and Lifelong Learning (ZLW) and the Language Centre, right through to the SDG Campus – there’s plenty to choose from.
The courses are categorised into different fields of competency, are worth 3 ECTS credits and are ungraded. Which FÜSQ courses you can take and how many you need depends on your specific examination regulations – it’s best to check these beforehand!
⚠️ Important: Registration does not work in the same way as for normal courses!
FÜSQ courses have their own registration and allocation phases:
📌 1st registration phase: 31 August–14 September 2026
→ You can register for the FÜSQ courses you’re interested in via C@MPUS. This creates a course request.
⭐ Next: Prioritise!
→ Under ‘My course requests’, you can rank your preferences. Your prioritisation will be taken into account when places are allocated.
🎲 1st allocation phase: 15–16 September 2026
→ Places are allocated via an automated ranking process. Factors such as your semester of study, your prioritisation and a random draw all play a role.
🔄 2nd registration phase: 17–29 September 2026
→ After this, you can register again for any FÜSQ courses that are still available.
📌 2nd allocation phase: 30 September–1 October 2026
💡 Tip: Check the course listings on C@MPUS well in advance and submit several course preferences. This will increase your chances of securing a place!
