Main line closure 2023

This year, the main line will again be closed from July 29 to September 8, 2023. The closure is being used to drive forward the digitization of the S-Bahn line between Stuttgart main station (low) and Vaihingen. This is intended to improve the performance and reliability of the S-Bahn. During this time, the stops in the closed section (Stadtmitte, Feuersee, Schwabstraße, Universität and Österfeld) can be reached by buses, which will be used as rail replacement services (SEV). This year, the S-Bahns will not be diverted from the main station (above) to Vaihingen, but will end there! However, buses can be used from the main station to reach the university. Please inform yourself about your connection in time and plan your trip accordingly, especially before important exams.
