we are happy to announce the Sustainability Days at the University of Stuttgart! The event will take place on June 3rd, 4th, and 9th, offering a diverse program of workshops, lectures, and discussions on sustainable topics. All events are open to the public and free of charge.

Talk "How to make your research sustainable – practical tips for the laboratory"4. June 16.00-17.00V 57.06This workshop will uncover concrete actions every scientist can take to make their processes more sustainable. Although the reduction of environmental footprints will be central, other factors such as enhanced data quality, reduced expenses, and mental balance will be explored as important factors as well. A multitude of opportunities will be discussed, from general best practices to specific approaches to optimize methodologies such as Mass Spectrometry or High-Performance Liquid Chromatography. In the end, participants will leave with a deeper understanding of what sustainable practice can look like, how to initiate change, and where to refine one’s skills. The talk will be held by Patrick Penndorf.
Movie night "Chasing Coral"4. June 18.00-19.30V 47.01We will be showing the movie "Chasing Coral". We will provide you with free snacks and drinks. A team of divers, photographers and scientists set out on a thrilling ocean adventure to discover why corals are vanishing at an unprecedented rate. This film is the product of 500+ hours of underwater footage, coral bleaching submissions from volunteers in 30 countries, and support from more than 500 people in various locations around the world. Afterwards you will be able to ask question about coral restoration. Lenja, who worked with the non-profit organisation Reef Renewal Foundation Bonaire will give you an impression of this part of nature conservation.
Bicycle tour to the Siebenmühlental9. June 14.00-17.00Treffpunkt: Radschnellweg Stuttgart RohrEven right next to Stuttgart, there are beautiful landscapes for nice bicycle tours! The tour will start in Stuttgart Vaihingen (Rohr), from where we will head south in the direction of the Schönbuch national park, where we will cycle back through the Siebenmühlental (Seven Mills Valley).
