Even during the university closure from Friday, 23.12. 2022 up to and including Sunday, 08.01.23, there will be opportunities to study at the university:
There will be a heated study room on both campuses:
Campus Stadtmitte: Breitscheidstraße 2b, 1st floor, room M 2.11
Vaihingen Campus: Universitätsstraße 34, ground floor, room 00.168 (in the former Campus guest)
Opening hours: Monday-Friday, except on public holidays (i.e.: 23.12.2022, 27.-30.12.2022., 02.-05.01.2023) in each case from 08:00 – 18:00.
As an additional offer, the MINT-Kolleg will be on site with lecturers in the learning room in Vaihingen on 28.12. and 29.12. 2022 and from 02.01. to 05.01. 2023 from 14:00 to 16:00 each day to help you with any questions.
In general, the university will be in “weekend mode” during this time, which means that the same access options apply as otherwise at the weekend. It is therefore not forbidden to come to the university, only access is restricted. Unlike at the weekend, however, the normal study rooms are not accessible with the ECUS.
In addition, there is generally no heating. The library will also be closed for the entire time and there will be no possibility to borrow books. Many of the staff will be on holiday, so student services will be severely limited.
If you are restricted in working on your thesis or other student work due to the closure of the library and the workrooms, there is a simplified possibility to apply for a deadline extension of usually two weeks.
