Information about the winter semester 2021/2022

All students at the University of Stuttgart received an email today with information about the winter semester 2021/2022. For us, the decision by the rectorate means that most of the courses in the winter semester will again take place in presence. To ensure that the return to campus is safe for all of us, there are some requirements:

Wearing an FFP2 mask is compulsory in the university building and also at the course site. The 3G rule will apply; so you must be able to show valid proof when entering the lecture hall. If you have covid symptoms, access to university buildings is generally prohibited. For the most part, rooms are only used to 50% capacity and may only be used if there is a way to ventilate them.

We do not know whether the rapid test centres on Campus Vaihingen and Campus Stadtmitte will continue to operate during the winter semester. The university is currently looking into possibilities for testing and vaccination on the campuses. As things stand, from 11 October onwards, tests will be fee-based for everyone who can be vaccinated. Especially important for international students: the 3G rule is only fulfilled with a vaccination if the vaccine is approved in Germany.

The process for room bookings may still take some time and not all events will be possible in attendance. If it appears that many of your courses will only be held digitally, please contact your subject group. They can then seek contact with the respective lecturers so that hopefully a presence option can still be found.

Of course, there will still be digital courses for students who cannot come to the university for personal reasons.

We hope that the winter semester will be a good one for all of us.
