100th StuPa Meeting

On Wednesday, 01.02., the 100th meeting of the student parliament will take place from 14:30. The meeting will take place in room 0.150 at Universitätsstraße 34. In addition to various reports and the questioning of the board, there will also be elections and many motions.

A new board assessor and deputy board chair, as well as a new deputy culture officer are to be elected. If the candidate is elected, the amount of the expense allowance is also to be fixed.

The first motion deals with the establishment of a department for teaching. Actually, there is a subject group for this, but the student group (Fachgruppe) recently decided to dissolve itself, among other things on the condition that there is a department for teaching. If the department is set up, (deputy) speakers should also be elected.

The second motion is about the budget of the stuvus. This is the basis for the budget from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024. A budget must be passed so that stuvus can continue to finance projects.

The third motion deals with the financial plan of frei[raum]. This is a café that is to be opened and operated on the Vaihingen campus. The premises are located near the “Universum” learning space.

The fourth application aims to buy a new kitchen for the hellblaues Nilpferd. These are stuvus premises on the Vaihingen campus.

Two other motions revolve around guides. Social events are now to be handled according to their own guidelines. For this reason, the guidelines for hospitality were amended.

One motion is to instruct the Executive Board to advocate for a fire safety slide from a university building into the canteen.

Another motion asks that the board come up with a concept for a petting zoo.

Another proposal is for the Board of Directors to develop a concept for the private cultivation of the variety “Honey Melon Kush”.

There is also a motion to instruct the Executive Board to lobby for a helipad on the Vaihingen campus.

Another motion is about the installation of a ball pool in the House of Students.

One applicant would like the StuPa to position itself in favour of extended opening hours of Pizza Harmonie.

Another motion deals with demanding a publication of the lift algorithms.

The last motion asks for a renaming of all working groups of the stuvus.

We cordially invite all students to attend the StuPa meeting and participate in the discussions. Likewise, you are of course free to ask questions to the board and the people running for office.
